Your membership application will be put to the BHMA Board for approval, please be aware that this may take up to two weeks. In the unlikely event that your membership is not approved by the Board, we will refund your membership subscription fee in full.

As part of the membership application process we will be looking at your website (if applicable) to ensure compliance with MHRA/ASA/CAP guidelines. If we consider that there are potential issues, we would need you to get your website checked by the BHMA’s regulatory consultant and to make any advised changes. A fee of £15 will be payable directly to the consultant for a quick check of your website and for any relevant recommendations for amendment to ensure compliance. If the quick check reveals the need for more extensive advice for you to reach compliance you will need to discuss the costs of any additional work with the consultant directly. The recommended amendments will need to made before your membership application can be processed and confirmed.

If you decide not to make the recommended amendments we will be able to cease processing your membership application and refund your membership subscription fee, but please note we will not be able to refund any related website checking service fees.

PLEASE NOTE: We are now operating an automatic renewal subscription membership for membership of the BHMA. Once you join or renew using this method, your membership will be automatically renewed yearly and your membership fee will be charged to the payment method you used at checkout. If you decide that you no longer wish to be a member, you will be able to cancel the renewal and no further charge will be made. If you decide not to renew, we kindly ask that you cancel at least 4 days before your membership is due to renew, because the renewal process begins during that time.
